Meet our President

 

After 28 years of working in Real Estate in Santa Barbara and raising five children, Mary brought her husband and youngest daughter to Carpinteria in 2012 to live closer to her father as he entered his 90s.

Mary attributes her passion for service to her parents, who were active participants in change and service and ingrained that philosophy in her by demonstrating the joy of service to the community.

Serving in the schools, clubs and churches while raising her children, Rotary was the next step for service to the community and a natural extension of the philosophy that service to the community is a fundamental part of being alive and what defines us as people.  “Being in Rotary is exciting, fun and wonderful way to meet like-minded people who have high integrity and who cherish life, friendship and the joy of service”  Mary Layman.
